Treatment / Corrective Techniques
-Surgical – Internal fixation is used to realign the joints and return the broken bone fragments to a normal position.
-Nonsurgical – non-weightbearing cast for up to 6 weeks only if no fractures, dislocations, or a completely torn ligament.-Fusion
¤A welding process which fuses together the damaged bones so they heal into a single, solid piece.

Rehab / Recovery
-Cannot bear weight for 6-8 weeks.
-Cast or boot is reccomended.
-Weightbearing can start in boot after doctor approves it after 6-8 weeks.
-The amount of weight along with the distance of walking is up to the surgeon.
-All impact activities should be avoided until all hardware has been removed.-Hard to return back to same performance intensity as before injury.
-Arthritis may occur from damaged cartilage.
-May require a fusion in the future.
